A new Mark Sunderland Photography catalogue featuring the complete current print range of over 150 prints is currently in production.

The catalogue will be available as a small softback Blurb book, hopefully from early July, and will retail at just £9.

As a taster, here is a screen shot from the catalogue's development showing a spread featuring two new images from North Wales.

It's going to be a great little book packed full of prints, great value for under a tenner!

Roseberry Topping

A preview of a new image from my shoot earlier this week before the rain arrived:

I had a drive up to Roseberry Topping after a visit to Mount Grace Priory on Monday this week, as the evening light was so beautiful. The sun was still relatively high when I shot this at around 8pm, but the crop in the foreground (is that wheat?) just looked lovely.

I'll get this on the website in due course - but I have a couple in the frameable card format ready for the show at Guisborough this weekend!

Landscape Expressions Exhibition and Hebden Bridge Fringe

Landscape Expressions Exhibition

Mark Sunderland is collaborating with Harrogate Printmakers in a new exhibition entitled Landscape Expressions at Art in The Mill, Knareborough this April.

Featuring atmospheric photographs from Mark Sunderland's new Dales Light series (including Winter Light, above) and monoprints, linocuts and collographs by Harrogate Printmakers Lesley Birch, Yvonne Elvin and Mandy Maynard inspired by the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.

As well as the new Dales Light prints, a selection of Mark's other Limited Edition prints will be on show along with a small number of Yorkshire Through The Seasons open editions.

Venue: Art in The Mill, Green Dragon Yard, Off Castlegate, Knaresborough, HG5 8AU

Mountain Landscape at Tiger 11

There is another chance to see last year's popular Mountain Landscape exhibition by Mark Sunderland.

Visitors to Tiger 11 in Leeds will be able to see sixteen pieces celebrating the beauty of mountainous landscapes of the world from the western USA to the southern Andes, Australia, Iceland and closer to home in the Yorkshire Dales in this exhibition organised by Artsmix.

"My Moving Water images combine the natural blurring of waterfall subjects with my own camera movements. My first series of Moving Water images concentrated on deep earthy colours, so I was keen to find a waterfall subject with different coloured rocks behind the water. On a trip to the Blue Mountains, I found a little waterfall at Leura Falls consisting of a series of small cascades over orange rocks covered in moss, and knew immediately that this was the subject I was looking for."

Winter Art Market and Schedule Changes

Unfortunately, the last two Original Art Exhibitions events planned for this year at Addingham were cancelled at short notice.

I would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused. I was able to show some work at Artsmix @ The Loft in Leeds in place of the November Addingham event, and am now pleased to announce that I will be showing a small amount of work at the new Winter Art Market at Listers Mill in Bradford in place of the December Addingham event.

A sale of original art and photography

Knaresborough landscape photographer Mark Sunderland is a regular exhibitor at the Original Art Exhibitions events held in Addingham Memorial Hall (see www.originalartexhibitions.co.uk for details). Mark has invited the organiser Tony Broadbent to stage a similar event in Knaresborough, and the result is Knaresborough’s first Original Art Exhibitions art sale to be held at Gracious Street Methodist Church Hall on Sunday 2nd September.

Mark Sunderland will be showing more of his ‘Yorkshire Through the Seasons’ series of prints (above) some of which can be seen in McQueen’s Cafe on the High Street and in Northern Galleries, Market Place. He will also have some limited edition prints from a new ‘Moving Water’ series of images (below).

Tony Broadbent will have a selection of dramatic abstract landscape paintings on display (below), and there will work from other regular Addingham exhibitors from the region and further afield.

July Addingham Event Cancelled - but Four Events in August!

Unfortunately the Original Art Exhibitions event at Addingham this weekend (July 29th) has been cancelled. A number of exhibitors travelling north are not able to attend due to the recent flooding. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. The two day event in August will go ahead as planned.

In fact, August will be a busy month, with Mark Sunderland showing at four two day events, so there are plenty of opportunities to see his photographs...
